American Heritage Wildlife Foundation inc. is incorporated with the State of Idaho as a non-profit incorporation as well as a federally recognized 501(c)3 organization. Status approved in 2002. It all started in 1998 when two zookeepers met and realized they wanted to create a combination zoological park, nature center, wildlife hospital and rehabilitation facility. The primary focus being the local wildlife and how to help get them back into the wild, where they belong. The secondary focus on how to help the public better understand their ’native neighbors’.

Why here in the Panhandle of Idaho? The reasons are because of the terrific need and the interest to preserve this regions wild beauty.

Want to become a board member?
The responsibilities vary but the heart of the matter is being responsible for guiding AHWF into the future. If you think you would be interested in becoming a director we have a
quick questionnaire for you to fill out and our 'voting in' is at our September membership meetings.

If the thought of being a board member is not appealing, we are seeking volunteers for various committees, such as public relations, events coordination and fundraising.
